Part of the influence strategy, the management of the psychological environment is an approach aiming at promoting the legitimacy of the action, deploying the means required to bring pressure to bear on the various players involved: friendly, neutral or belligerent parties, and at conducting the relevant actions. Such a management includes eight fields: 1. internal communication; 2. public relations; 3. force behaviour; 4. "media communication"; 5. local communication; 6. civil-military actions; 7. psychological support; 8. psychological action. The first four fields are called operational communication and the last four ones psychological support. (FRA)
