Важным считаю отметить, насколько редко используется "home task(s)". Обычно говорят homework assignment. Поэтому в BNC нет этой коллокации. Поэтому в Википедии также только homework и homework assignment. Поэтому на тех форумах носители как один спрашивают "а где вы это home task взяли?"

На первом и втором сайтах 2020 год, речь идёт о локдауне, самоизоляции и заданиях выполнения на дому (в том числе летних). Полагаю, поэтому и написано не стандартное homework, а буквально task, который описывается словом home.

По второй, третьей и четвёртой ссылкам просматривается сравнение, логическое ударение на слове home. Сначала упоминается school task, затем home task. Сначала do it "as a class", затем do it "as a home task". Сначала "in maths this week... we have constructed...", затем "our home task this week is...". Как по мне, это, опять же, контекстуальное использование слова task, которое описывают словом home, но не абсолютная замена к слову homework и не устойчивое.

Исходя из всех вышеупомянутых ссылок и обсуждений, прихожу к выводу, что приблизительно как в русском обычно не говорится "надомное задание", так и в английском обычно не употребляется "home task(s)"; мы чаще всего говорим "домашнее задание", а для них "home task" это не устойчивое, а буквальное сочетание слов task и home.

Смиритесь уже - пусть homework будет домашней работой, а home task - домашним заданием. На судьбы мира это точно никак не повлияет.
