The principal idea governing the method used by a force grouping to perform its assigned mission. The concept of operations defines the area in which the main effort will be concentrated, i.e. the direction of the main and other attacks. It lays down the means used to destroy the enemy, specifying which force groupings will be attacked, where, when, how and in what order, as well as the fire plan and the deception procedures.
