Member States shall determine the penalties applicable to breaches of the national provisions adopted pursuant to this Directive. Those penalties shall be effective, proportionate and dissuasive.

De lidstaten bepalen welke sancties van toepassing zijn bij inbreuk op de ter uitvoering van deze richtlijn vastgestelde nationale bepalingen. Die sancties moeten doeltreffend, evenredig en afschrikkend zijn.
