Person responsible for equipment. The possessor can be: 1. a possessor-user: any soldier who was issued individual equipment, or equipment put at his disposal for his own individual needs, any person assigned the security and maintenance of collective equipment; 2. a possessor-depository: qualification given to the officer in charge of equipment, regarding the equipment he took over at the unit's stores. He takes full responsibility for the existence and maintenance of this equipment, except in the case of an action by a third party, an unpredictable hazard, or an accidental event.
