(UKR/NATO); An operation in which a force out of contact moves away from the enemy; Withdrawal operation conducted if the success of an operation is jeopardized for serious and unforseen external reasons. A withdrawal may then be decided. Its execution implies the following: a - keeping a « way out » permanently during the operation; b - planning joint actions specifically; c - preserving command and control capabilities; d - managing time limits to reach a compromise between speed and the unit security; An operation in which a force out of contact moves away from the enemy.
