The various technical resources with which the armed forces are equipped, for battle and routine military tasks. These include armaments and the vehicles on which they are mounted, command and control equipment, special technical and logistic support equipment, and training aids. Most military equipment is for combat, and is subdivided according to the types of forces or arms of the service to which it is assigned or according to the type of delivery system. Military equipment is the principal material element of the military assets of a state.
